Travel Hockey
The travel program is a fun, team-oriented and competitive hockey experience. Each player is placed on the most appropriate team based on rigorous player evaluations. Travel teams compete in the Valley Hockey League and are co-ed.
Ages
For the 2023-2024 Season
Mite (8U): Birth years 2015-2017
Squirt (10U): Birth years 2013-2014
Peewee (12U): Birth years 2011-2012
Cost
Tuition for the Mite (8U) program is $1450
Tuition for the Squirt (10U)/Peewee (12U) program is $1750
Note: Tuition rates calculated during registration automatically include a $100 credit for tryouts. An additional $100 charge will be added to the registration cost for any player that did not participate in tryouts in March 2023.
Games
Mite (8U): ~25 games
Squirts (10U): ~35 games
Peewee (12U): ~35 games
Practices
Practices are typically held twice per week on varying days. Additional skills sessions will be provided and are run by external, professional instructors.
When
The travel ice hockey season runs September thru March. Outdoor shooting Clinics for Mite (8U) and Squirt (10U) teams start in August!

Games: Held in surrounding towns based on the Valley Hockey League schedule.
Jerseys
Home and away jerseys (and socks) are required and can be ordered as part of registration at an additional cost.
Returning players can wear jerseys and socks from the previous year.
Extra Costs
Jerseys cost $125.
Socks cost $20.
Additional Information
USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for insurance purposes. There is a fee for USA Hockey registration based on age, which is paid directly to USA Hockey. USA Hockey registration can be found here.
Full hockey equipment is required. WYH will provided a jersey and hockey socks at an additional cost. Players should provide the following:
- Hockey helmet with full face/shield (HECC approved) - For the safety of your child, an ICE HOCKEY HELMET (with a cage) must be worn at all times.
- Hockey pants
- Shin guards
- Elbow pads
- Hockey gloves
- Hockey skates
- Shoulder pads
- Hockey stick
- Athletic Supporter
- Mouth guards - OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED
- Throat protectors - OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED

2023-2024
Come play travel hockey with WYH! Teams will compete in the Valley Hockey League at the 12U, 10U, and 8U levels.
