Information about the Mite Season:

Mite teams will play in the Valley Hockey League. The season will start in early September; teams typically have 1 game per weekend at a rink in the greater Boston area.  The first 5-6 games (the "parity" round) are used to determine the appropriate level of play for the team, after which, teams will be placed in divisions with teams at a similar competitive level. This will be followed by a regular season through February that will determine seeding for a divisional playoff in early March.

On most weeks of the season, players will have 2 practices with their team coaches and 1 Skills session with an outside professional instruction group (this past season featured the first half of the season with the Warrior Hockey Group and the second half with Fred Hein).

Over the summer, registered Mite players will also have the opportunity to participate in skill-building clinics (e.g., stick handling, shooting) at the outdoor skating rink at Casey Park in Watertown. These clinics will be lead jointly by coaches from WYH and the Watertown High School Boys Hockey team as part of the "Hockey Buddy" partnership between WYH and the High School program. There is no additional cost for these clinics.
